For some reason, the lyrics reminded me of these two characters. And I thought a lot about this canon pairing.


Especially Elita's role in this relationship.


Being Optimus Prime's sparkmate isn't easy. She has to be brave. Offer him comfort when he needs it. Guard Cybertron for him while he and his men fight against the 'Cons on a planet far away from home. He seldom has time for her because he always has too much work to do.


Even though he loves her, he rarely shows.


No matter how much she misses his presence, she has to let go whenever the Autobots and the humans plead for his help. Time after time, she watches him walk away from her to step into the next battle, and she never knows if he can make it back alive.


Yet she's still there for him. That's how Elita One loves Optimus Prime.
