Fanart for :iconthornqueen: (aka Hearts of Eternity on FanFiction.Net)'s Transformers fanfiction, Surface of the Sun.


The scene is inspired by the prologue of the fanfic. I already gave up the thought of drawing movieverse Megatron, so I drew both characters as humans in this picture... The man in gray uniform is Megatron, and the baby in his arms refers to Sideswipe's sparkling frame.

In that part of the story, Megatron is still a loyal Autobot who works for his brother - Optimus Prime - as the High Lord Protector of Cybertron. When the Creators of Lambo Twins bring the red-armoured frame they prepare for Sideswipe to the Emporium of the Allspark and are ready to put the spark into it, Megatron asks if he can hold the delicate sparkling frame for a minute.



My heart nearly melted when I read the fic. I totally love how ThornQueen wrote Megatron in her story - before he falls and becomes every Autobot's nightmare, he's surely an adorable daddy-type mech. If anyone is interested in Sideswipe and Sunstreaker's past or how the other bots were doing before the war, go read it! The Twins are absolutely cute in the said fic, and you can also see the humorous interactions between Optimus, Ironhide and Megatron in chapter 6.

That is quite a talent to be able to make Megatron look hot, fatherly, and surprisingly calm, all in one picture. Seriously...Not many can do it, and I've only seen about three good examples on the entire DA art inventory. But yours in the only one with color. *_*

I read Thornqueen's fanfic a lot, but I *need* to read this story now. And on a different note, I'm going to be drawing Megs for a fanfic myself soon. This is an inspiration to me! :D

Awww, this is absolutely adorable . . . I never thought Megatron capable of such delicate handling, and here I am, almost in tears over how gentle he's being! ;-; I love the lighting effect - it's so innocent and bright - and Megatron's human form looks fantastic. The military outfit really suits him, and it makes a really great contrast with the baby: war vs innocence. Beautiful as always!

Oh my god!! An innocent Sideswipe!! How very rare & adorable :aww: When I compare this to your other pic, I do see a slight resemblance between Optimus Prime & Megatron. Their facial features look similar, or am I totally off-base here? He looks so fatherly too, which is something that's often hard to capture in regards to Megatron. Excellent work here!! :D
